Help! IMGBurn I/O Error - Invalid Address for Write

Hi, I've been reading these boards for awhile now, but I'm a newbie to posting so I appreciate any help you can give me.

I suddenly started having problems burning (I/O Error) a couple of weeks ago with the DVD Shrink Nero combo. I then switched to DVD Decrypter and got a new I/O Error, so finally I tried DVD Shrink with IMGBurn. I get an I/O Error with these other lines (I didn't put down the lines in between Interpretations):
    I/O Error!

    Interpretation: Check Condition
    <O</O
    Interpretation: Write (10) – Sectors: 0-31
    <O</O
Interpretation: Unknown (Write Error) (0x0C, 0x80)

Here is the IMG Burn Log:

I am currently using Verbatim Light Scribe DVD+Rs. I have tried lowering the write speed to 4x, and I updated my drive's firmware. I've tried everything I could think of prior to posting, but I'm out of ideas. I also tried backing up other DVDs to make sure it wasn't the specific movie. Any help would be really appreciated, thanks. Sorry if this message is posted elsewhere, but I couldn't find this exact error message on the boards.

Try lowering the speed again to 2.4X on USB drives. Those disks are reasonably new and the firmware is quite old (Feb 06) and no further update is available. You might have better luck with MCC003s.

You should only use genuine Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Many thanks to www.pcx.com.au for their supply and great service.

Thanks for the quick replies. No luck on the 2.4x speed, I get the same error as before. I will try it on a different computer and if that doesn't work, I'll try and grab the older media version. I'll let you know.

It worked fine for about 2 weeks, now that same 0X0C 0X80 error keeps popping up now nothing works, sony, TY, verbatim, the media doesn even matter. its driving me up a wall. it used to work on command, I felt like the DVD master, now, no such luck. please help

more problems, I tried to update my firmware, and I wrecked my junk. now nero and dvddecrypter and img burn do not recognize blank media. total bummer. I reformatted my gateway hardrive, resinstalled all the software (windows, office, etc) lost my bookmarks, but saved my documents, still no dice on reading blank media. any suggestions, or should I just quit and move under a bridge like a common troll.

Well, I'm sorry to hear that, 12345. Fortunately for me, it seems that different Verbatim media worked at 2.4x at least once. I will hold out judgement until a few succesful burns are complete, but it appears to be in good shape. Now, to just find some LightScribe DVDs that will work again so I can make those pretty pictures on the front...

Thanks again for everyone's help, and good luck, 12345.

As many others have, I have had many problems with burning my Xbox360 games. I did all my research and pretty much knew exactly what i was doing. It was just putting it into motion now. I had TDK ritek disks, set burn speed to 2.4x and hit burn. First problem: Write speed mismatch, the write speed was reset to 4x. Still havent been able to fix this but no need to. 2 games burned fine, but the next 8 discs...... WASTED!! I/O write error!! I tried Clone DVD...... same problem. I tried everything, so much frustration. I noticed when using Clone DVD it did write at my specified 2.4x, but also noticed, it didnt write as much information on the disk before having the write media error. So just for curiosity i went back to ImageBurn and set burn speed to 6x...... A COMPLETE SUCCESS!!! I know there is much contraversy about burning ur games at higher end speeds and this may be true at speeds faster than 6x, but i have burned many games since at 6x and even finished some of them and have had no problems what so ever. Later my usual shop only had verbatim disks, so i had to fork out the extra cash in desperation to play my eagerly awaited game ready for action. On the cover it specifically says 2.4x DVD+R DL. Got me thinking...... so i tried burning a verbatim disk at a slower speed. Also..... SUCCESS!!! I have searched everywhere on the net and could not find this information anywhere. So many people are having this problem and everyone tells you not to burn faster than 2.4x. Its drilled into ur head that the games will have problems and freeze up on you if you burn at faster speeds so no one obviously would try it. Like i said I tried EVERYTHING with no success and this works flawlessly for me everytime. I hope this works for everyone who have tried everything but have not tried this.........
                  GOOD LUCK!!
