Imgburn and decrypter help

I know Imgburn is the updated version of decrypter but i have a few questions. Any help would be appreciated.

First, what would happen to the defaults in ripit4me if i switch to imgburn and get rid of decrypter? How do i change it so ripitme uses imgburn instead of decrypter? I saw how to change the default for dvdshrink so thats cool.

Also,with decrypter i like to record in file mode a lot. I did not see this option on imgburn, am i missing something, or is not there, can you burn in file mode with imgburn?

please help.

so basically should i upgrade cause my motto is, "if it aint broke dont fix it" i dont want to mess anything up.

2 cross post threads closed. ImgBurn only burns. It has no decrypting routines. Do follow the RipIt4Me guide. You need DVD Decrypter to rip.

ImgBurn is a better burning solution though.

sorry forgot about rule 11. Im just confused about what imgburn is then. What advantage does it have?

DVD Decrypter has 2 parts.

1. A ripper that moves files from a DVD to a drive.
2. A DVD burner program.

DVD Decrypter has cease development because of the first part. (It is stuck at V 3.5.4.0)

So the author (LUK!) of DVD D wrote ImgBurn. It is an up to date DVD burner program that is still being constantly improving. So ImgBurn is the advanced (up to date) program of part 2 of DVD D.

Another thing that makes IMGBurn a better choice to burn with is it's 'Build Mode'......It can burn to disc from VOB, IFO, BUP files as well as from ISOs.

with the advent of the wizard and now ripit4me working together with fixvts, the great Decrypter is back in a big way. nothing will give you cleaner files than ripit4me(decrypter+fixvts). So, in my view, decrypter is a much better and complete program than imgburn which is only a burning application.

That comparison is a bit un-balanced, first DVDDecrypter spawned IMGBurn and second you can't call one better than the other unless you're only comparing it's burning abilities.

So you're recommending that maddawg4 only use DVDDecrypter for the burning as well?? Why? when IMGBurn 'is' basically DVDdecrypter's burn engine, only, further developed by LightningUK...

don't take wrong me, when it comes to burning, imgburn is much better than decrypter. all i'm saying is that that is all imgburn does. if you go back to the first post, madda is not just talking about their burning capabilities. he is comparing them overall, which it is unfair, i agree.

Ok so i use decrypter, ripit4me, shrink. My motto is if it aint broke dont fix it.

So why should i download imgburn. I know its an updated decrypter with no css cracking but why should i use it. Can anyone tell me why i need this program?

Also whatever happened to multishrink? did it work?

ImgBurn has several updates to improve the burning capabilities since DVDD. It also has a build mode which DVDD does not have. There is no good reason not to use ImgBurn unless DVDD is your comfort zone.

MultiShrink is a great tool for DVD Shrink, I use it all the time.

If that's the case, use another burning solution. Really, it can hardly be easier to use. Either make an effort or use something else.

wow just curious blutach. I always want the best but i just wanted to see if it was worth it to switch. Cause im not a computer expert so... like i said i dont want to risk it not working if it already does.
