on my most recent burn using ImgBurn, I burned at 4x, but in the verify stage it was verifying at variable rates, from .9x all the way to 17x. Is this normal? Never really noticed this before. After ImgBurn was finished I did a DQ check and the score was 95, so a good burn. Any ideas?

What else was going on during the verify? Lots of disk/CPU activity?

seems my tower is grinding away at something, yes. but I am not physically starting any other programs. should I reboot then try again and see what happens?Comment

Ill do that for sure the next time its verifying.....when the verifying stopped, so did all of the "extra" activity....thank you for the suggestion....is this fluxuation affecting the verification process negatively? or just adding time? or is it just an annoyance to me? lolLast edited by beachbumm33; 10 Feb 2007, 04:41 PM.Comment

As long as you got the happy sound as my wife calls it, then it verified but that is an unusual spread. Most of your logs I looked at on verify you are averaging around 8 & maxing at around 12 but your last few:
Average 3.8 Maximum 11.9
Average 3.9 Maximum 13.8
Average 8.3 Maximum 12 (According to the logs I looked at, this is normal)
Average 4.4 Maximum 17 (your last one)

Virus Scan running in the background? If I install a virus pgm. after a reformat for example, & let it set to automatic scanning, it seems to start running at the most inopportune times, such as during encoding, burning, etc.!seems my tower is grinding away at something, yes.Comment

no scan running, set to manual....havent had time to do anymore burns, but will definately investigate when I do...thanks all!Comment
