Device Buffer 86%-90%

Hi all,
A nice icy day here in N.J.
I have a question about the Device Buffer in Imgburn jumping between 86% and 90% during the entire burn. I know the Sony D11 isn't the best media but the device buffer has never bounced around like this before. Sony for the kids, TY's for me. After doing some searching I found information that came close to my situation. DMA is enabled. Here is my burn log.

well the benq will slow the burn down when it hits bad areas in a so-so blank, but at 4x and the time, doesn't look like that happened much

drive being fragmented will also impact the buffers

didn't really look like a problem tho

Checked fragmentation. Needs to be done. I usually defrag a few times a month. Guess this would be one of the times.

having an extra data drive and dedicating it to finished movie files is nice,
I try to keep them for a while and make sure all the burns play fine.
Every so often I go in and delete all of them, windows doesn't do a very good job of keeping them in order at all. Right now I have 100 gigs free on one partition and I know it's more red than blue.

My BenQ's are always at that level, it's perfectly normal.

Remember the drive only has a 2mb buffer so it doesn't take a lot for it to move around by a few percent.

If in doubt, post an IBG screenshot so we can see exactly what's going on.

if you have QSUIT take the WOPM off, I do that with good blanks

@Chewy I always wanted to install another HD just for the reason you mentioned. I've got to get to it!

@LUK the device buffer has always moved around with the Benq. I seemed to be moving like a clock up and down. After quality scanning, I probably need to stick with the TY02 for the kids as well. Not so good around the 4GB mark. The 2mb buffer was a thought as well.

@NightTran I'll give that (WOPM off) a try the next time I burn.
