I am probably missing something. I went to booktype on the Samsung for the first time since installing new version & this came up, ignored it & set it to DVD-ROM anyway. After the burn & verification I decided to put in another blank just to see what would happen, same thing. Am I missing a setting? I haven't tried the LG yet because it's main use is reading.
New Version.

Yep - make sure the first box on the write tab is checked (auto book type). No need to do anything after that.

I knew I missed something, thanks guys.
Edit: Spoke to soon, it was already checked. I just checked the LG & there was no problem but no on the Samsung.
Last Edit: Okay never mind, instead of looking at what it was saying I did another burn where all I did was pick my file & hit burn & yes it booktyped it to DVD-ROM.Last edited by soup; 21 Feb 2007, 11:59 AM.

Soup...
I was looking at the picture that you captured, and I saw the " drive dvd+r media" tab was used... when I do bit setting.. I choose "next write" and then below that I choose "dvd-rom" setting then I burn one.... (no pun intended)
Am I doing something wrong?
btw.. I am using the new ImgBurn and haven't had a problem finding drives or anything...

Ohh yeah.. since we are in ImgBurn I have a question..
I noticed that the NEW auto speed "thingy" (forgive my lack vocabulary)
It was burning at 8x (dayum 8x) speed and then the verify speed was was like 4-6 x speed shouldn't it be the other way around?
Also.. I am wondering this (PLEASE chewy don't throw rocks at me..)
I thought that a slower read and write rates of speed was important to keep from making more coasters... Hince I keep them at a slower rate.ElwoodsBrotherJake "...I'm on a mission from God, to help me and others from making coasters!Comment

post an imgburn log with settings at default
unless I miss my guess, your burns aren't that good and the verify rate is slower for that reason
usually with premium blanks and good burner/firmare combination read rates
should be high
LUK and Blutach would know a lot more than me
a disk transfer test with cdspeed will show where read rates drop the ballComment

That new 'Automatic Write Speed' thingy (as you put it!) must be configured before it'll do anything!
You have to add your disc MID's to the table and tell it what speed to burn them at - otherwise it'll just default to 'MAX' for every single disc.Comment
