IMG BURN no longer default writer 4 Shrink?

    Dear Gurus,

I hope this is simple - but I have looked all over the Forum, and can not find how to make IMG BURN (which I LOVE) my default writer with SHRINK.

It was OK up until a week or so ago, when I re-installed Shrink due to Shrink for some reason generating the Microsoft Error Report & shutdown error message (the one you have the option to report to MS.)

Anyway - deleting & re0installing Shrink corrected Shrink from shutting down midway through my previews of tracks, but not when Shrink tries to Burn, my ONLY options are to ...

Burn with NERO, which I will never do anymore or ...

Create an ISO Image, which I select, but then I need to manually open IMG BURN, find the ISO file and burn it.

Shrink used to have IMG BURN as a drop down choice.

    Any ideas?

Did you uncheck the burn with nero option?

You may need to uninstall/install properly for all options to work.

Here is the burn with ImgBurn from DVD Shrink link, you might need to install again.

Burn with Nero is Option 1

Create an ISO Image is Option 2

But: Create an ISO Image and Burn with IMG BURN used to be there - and is now gone.

I looked all through IMG BURN and could find no checkable option that would effect Shrink.

How about reinstalling Image Burn. Isn't there some kind of option to check in there to make it your default burner in Shrink when you install it?

Nope. Just re0installed IMG BURN 2.2.0.0 and there were no prompts to add the drop down "create ISO and Burn with IMG Burn" option.

Is the burn with nero box unticked? as eluded to previously by Dan?

YEs. The Tick (under my new situation) may be placed at one of 2 options (see ablove)

I used to have a 3rd Option "create ISO Image and Burn with IMG Burn"

The 3rd option (or place to put my check mark) is now gone.

I just updated my ImageBurn and there was a place that asked me before it downloaded if I wanted to replace the burn with dvd decrypter with create Iso Image and Burn with IMG Burn. The prompt was in the beginning. Maybe try again. Uninstall and reinstall.

These two are not the same, this pic and previous pic posted, you have to disable the burn with nero in the shrink preferences first.....not once you click backup.....sorry for the confusion.

I think Selmer is saying that there is no option for the iso and burn with imageburn in the drop down box. That comes after you download image burn.

I'm not positive, but I don't think there will be the option until you disable burn with nero first, but I may be wrong, that happens a lot, lol..... but I keep on tryin!

I believe also that burn with Nero has to be disabled in preferences. Also Dvd Shrink would have to be uninstalled & reinstalled for it to pick up ImgBurn as long as you have the Dvd Shrink version that burns with ImgBurn.

Thanks - !!! - but for some reason Still no Luck.

I went into Shrink per your advise & unchecked burn with NERO in Preferences.

This eliminated the burn with nero in the drop down menue in shrink.

I then completely un-installed IMG Burn again. This time I installed it in the Custom mode, to make sure I was not skipping any prompts.
(like the elusive "burn with img burn" prompt I have heard about when people install the new IMG BURN.

No such prompt is in the img burn I installed (current version - thanks to BLUTACH's great list of DVD tools.)

PS - Another Idea - I did pick up on something else from you guys - someone mentioned that after loading IMG BURN, there was a prompt about "replacing DVD DECRYTOR with IMG BURN."

I deleted Decryptor several months ago. Maybe this is the problem. ??

Do I need Decryptor somewhere on my system to trigger this elusive prompt?

Maybe I am reaching. I really have a pea brain.

OOps. I just checked my system, and DECRYPTOR was installed, so my theory is wrong.

With Decryptor already installed, I am just missing this prompt during the install of IMG Burn.

I will try removing Decryptor (?) then re-loading IMG Burn.

                              Hoping for luck of course.
