Error - Unable to find any cells that could be used for LB

hi,

i converted my own video file to DVD and wanted to burn it to a dual layer. i also added my own chapters with DVDremake pro (if that matters).
anyway, i opened the video in ImgBurn and pressed the calculator icon, and it gave me the above error message.

what can i do to overcome this issue?

You could bite the bullet and go for it...or look into the discs that you are using as the culprit. Do you have a log to post?

i don't think my particular case has to do with the media. i'm not even trying to burn to a disc yet, i'm just trying to create an iso disc. i DO have verbatim dvd+rdl discs, but isn't that irrelevant if i'm just trying to create an ISO?

where do log files go?

Open Imgburn and hit Ctrl+Alt+L or go to "view" Logs...this will open a window below the working window of Imgburn which contain some bit of useful information. How big is the file you are working with...would you or can you compress it with DVD Shrink?

its 3 hours long WITH DTS audio. compressing with DVDShrink is out of the question, hehe.

i think i know what the problem is. i tried doing the same thing with Pgcedit and got a similar error. it said to split cell 15 between sectors x and x.

split into 2 parts, straight rip and burn fast, 2 single layers, no quality loss, but at 1 1/2 hours you would have to change the disk and go get more coke and popcorn

yeah, the video is quite long.

can anyone explain to me what this means? i tried splitting cell 15 with vobblanker, but it still won't work. i'm guessing i have to split it in a specific spot, but i have no idea what this means.

Clearly your authoring did not obey the rules and ImgBurn was warning you not to proceed.

You need to split so as to have more info on layer 0 than layer 1 (but obviously not to overfill layer 0). Do exactly what PgcEdit says to do and you will be OK.

thats the problem, i don't really know what PgcEdit is telling me to do, hehe.

but i think i got it now. pgcedit is telling me to split cell 15 between sectors 2010749 and 2086557 right? how do i find out where that is in vobblanker? do i add up all the sectors up until cell 15 to give me an idea where to split the cell?
if no one gets back to me in time, i guess ill see shortly.

edit: nope, i was reading it wrong. i am a pretty big vobblanker/pgcedit noob btw.

VobBlanker's preview/cut screen tells you the absolute sector when you move the slider. Here's an example from a home movie.

hmm, what version are you using? mine only shows what appears to be the relative sectors. it just says "Sector (lba)".

But I thought this was in 2.1.3.0 as well. Get the beta from jsoto's site and see if that makes it a bit easier to accomplish.
