liteon and samsung are good(16 to 18x newer models) some problems with dvd-r's/lead in?

LG's are also good and make a durable drive

~12 x 100, not sure you'll be so lucky next time, a lot of people aren't

You do realise that now you've removed the AnyDVD filter driver that it won't work yeah?

All you should really have done, is checked for newer versions of the driver (program).

Personally I'd have just removed the following:

GEARAspiWDM (will stop itunes from being able to burn discs)
        ASAPIW2k
PxHelp20 (actually very common so will probably come back next time you update some software that uses it)

Yes, of course they are. I just wanted to make sure the OP knew the consequences of what he/she was doing.

I didn't want them (or anyone else for that matter) following advice to remove everything from the filter driver list and then come back complaining that none of their 'cd/dvd drive related' software works!

I see a little of that, but then I see a lot of people totally reload their computers because of corrupted filter drivers or return(RMA) dvd burners for the same reason.

Imgburn is about the only burning app that doesn't need frequent reinstalls.
