Buyer beware, there's no correlation between what you pay and what you get, like forrest said, "Stupid is as stupid does". Mostly you find memorex on sale, and often at higher prices, "Is it live or is it memorex?". All that advertising takes money which you pay for. Wait for the verbatim sales and stock up is the smartest thing to do, especially if you can't order on line and get free shipping.
BTW verbatim is not the best dvd+r, TY is and it's hard to find or expensive.
Im sorry why is dvd+r the better booktype?? my understanding is dvd-r is for older players?
I understand the burn speed better. Do we want a faster speed ?? If not why do they make 16x, or burners that burn @18x. I did my last burn @1x as suggested by blutach, and only had to wait an extra minute for that spd, and got the same result as burning to the dvd+rw. so a note to self just dvd+r and burn slow
What do we think of Verbatim DVD+R DL ??
-I noticed when I select burn speed 1x- it burns at 4x anyways. see any issues here??
Verbatim dvd+r is usually a little better than their dvd-r, with TY that is not true.
Dvd+r's are prefered by many because they can be bitsett to dvd-rom.
Some companies improved their blanks as they went to higher speed, some were already
about as good as it gets(TY). 16 and 18x and even 20x are mostly marketing hype.
now that you are using usb2 your firmware is limiting the burn rate to 4x as the slowest,
I never reccomended 1x, lock imgburn down to 4x and leave it for a while.

Blutach did, considering the usb dvd burner. 4x is working for what Im doing so roger that, and its only 13 minutes (compared to the 2 hrs before and 1 hr to verify, not including test). And thanks for the lead on the verbatim sale I picked up couple stacks. Thanks everyone for all your help I can burn with ease now. And because I like to complicate my life Im going get these authoring progs. to work for me. lol

After burning successful dvd's, should you delete the source?? If you did want to make changes to your dvd, you could do so later with other programs and use the dvd as the new source could you not???
