    External DVD drive ERROR.

    Given:
Lite-On external DVD burner DH20A3H, latest firmware
    ImgBurn 2.4.1.0
MacBook with Windows XP SP2 Home on VMwareFusion

The drive appears in My Computer.
    ImgBurn recognizes the drive.
I placed a blank DVD (Sony DVD-R 16x), disc becomes recognized and then immediately it tells me Device Not Ready (The specified network resource or device is no longer available.) When i press the eject button, I get an I/O error. CDB: 1B 01 00 00 02 00 Interpretation Start/Stop Unit. Reason: The specified network resource or device is no longer available.

I previously was able to get ImgBurn to recognize the disk and allow me to write an image to the disc. As soon as the tray cycled for the verify, I got all of the same errors.

    Yes, I'm burning at 4x.

This sounds like a vmwarefusion thing to me. There's some issue with the program communicating with the drive.
