how would you ever get busted?
They are part of the government, them FBI's. They have their ways...

I am in Southern California, and I have never even heard of limited downloading, ever. i download tons of stuff and the company never tells us of any extra charge... but since i never upload, not that much at least that i know of. our company, and every single company out there does not like, and downloading is fine.

@ chickeneater: So then you "leech files"

@enchanter: Still, even 140$/month for every extra gig is unimaginable. Those greedy ISP basterds, that gig that you download even if it is warez, it certainly is NOT worth that 140$...

these isp's make no sense to me. why give high connection speeds of like 3-8mbit when they limit you so much on bandwidth.

        so greedy!!

Leech: noun : Person who downloads files from the internet without giving anything in return.
-ing: verb act of not sharing with the p2p community.

Depends. Just don't do it excessively.

                  Think of it this way:

If noone shared, where would YOU download your files? <---That used to be my signature

You do understand that I'm not in the position to leech, let alone share files, don't you?

Of course, that cap must be huge piss-off

Let me brag a bit by saying that my ISP just increased the monthly download cap to 10gigs! Still better than 6 that i had before, and your 3gigs

Are there ISP's where you are that don't have a download cap? It would seem to me that they would have a monopoly over the other capped isp's...

There are, and I'm hoping to switch to one of them. However, the process is not quite straight-forward and I can expect to wait for up to 2 months before the new connection is up (during which time I won't have any connection since the ISP requries that the phone line be freed of any previous connection. This is what is holding me back).

and apparently gd_nimrod, our ISP does not have a download cap... i suppose that that is good if you download lots of stuff.
