To be fair, two of our draws were against United (which pretty much ended your title challenge) and against a tough Newcastle team that beat Chelsea the following week. The rest came on or after the day we won the league, and apart from not losing, we don't have anything else to fight for. Most telling is the fact that Pires hasn't started the last two games, and wasn't even on the bench for this one.

Still, Reyes scores his first league goal (so he's now scored in all three competitions, all four if you include his own goal in the league cup game ) - he's already made more impact than when Henry first came, but I think it will be another season or two before he can really start performing. Definitely better than Jeffers, but that's not saying much.

And Depor are out of the CL. I have a strange feeling that Chelsea might go through as well.

I think that Monaco are doing so well at the minute, I really see them being the team to go through to the final and beat Porto. I would really love to see Monaco hammer Chelsea 3-0 tonight or something - that would be brilliant. Come on Morientes...

That was close though. At 2-0, you'd think Chelsea would be able to hold on and perhaps even get a third, but I just don't think they're good enough a team to win anything yet. Sure, they beat Arsenal, but it took them 5 tries this season before they could and only because of our hectic schedule.

            excuses, excuses admin ;]

a great game again by chelsea and monaco - they really gave value for money, 2:2, posts, bars, inches-wide shots, drama, controversy <- this game had it all, fantastic two semi legs by the two teams, as opposed to the poor performances by depo and porto in both games <- had manchester & milan beat them eralier , they would make a great second semi.

It was an interesting game to watch alright, and im happy they went out, however, i wouldve been happier had RvN scored his penalty at Old Trafford today and we had beaten Chelsea 2-1. Ah well, next season here we come. United will anounce on Tuesday the 3 other top world teams to be playing them in the preseason. I expect to see some big signings for next season.

Arsenal 1st - Best Goal Difference, Best Defensive Record
Chelsea 2nd - Second Best Goal Difference, Second Best Defensive Record
Man United 3rd - Third Best Goal Diference, Third Best Defensive Record

It seems pre-destined to me lol

Just finished watching the United game (delayed telecast - seems the sports channels can't be bothered showing the Premier League live anymore). Was a pretty good game. I though United played pretty average - the crosses into the box were horrible and your strikers didn't have any decent service until the final few minutes. Chelsea's Huth was an accident waiting to happen, but what changed the game ultimately was Ranieri's strange substitution. So you've just lost a defender, and the first sub you make is to take off a right back and put on another right back?? Didn't they have any defenders on the bench? You could see Lampard's confused look at Ranieri when the sub was announced.

So it's Arsenal tomorrow against a tough Fulham side. I am hoping for a draw, but nothing is for certain. If Pires plays, then we have a chance to win it. If not, then a draw is probably the best we can hope for.

lol - ther was a reason for Claudio substitution, the player had injured his calf and signalled he wanted to come off. Someone should have thought to tell Lampard though, as im sure he was thinking the same as you.

Yeah, United were not good, mediocre at best, and the strikers got on to nothing virtually, but maybe that was done to good defending. Huth was a disaster waiting to happen, i was sure he would get sent off. The referee was kind only giving him a second yellow, technically it was a straight red. Scholes was not happy about getting taken off so early, but it was inevtiable he would be after two terrible challenges. Very lucky not to have been sent off.

Bring on the FA Cup. Id just wished the Solskjaer was fitter as that would have enabled us to bring him on earlier - he is wonderful at creating out of nothing - still my favourite player

Yeah, that is very true, it is disappointing as a fan, but understandable that a club can not attain first place every single year. We have to realise that there are 3 top clubs in England, all with the same strong ambition, two out of those three will be unhappy each year....

Yeah, i was hoping that Liverpool werent going to be 4th. If Newcastle win their last two matches and liverpool lose their last one, then Newcastle go 4th

Unfortunately Real Betis were beaten 1-0 by Villareal. Betis are having difficulties scoring this year, think we need to invest in a new striker. Bayern Munic lost the Liga at their own pitch today to Bremen. Another classic Kahn cock-up haha - Oliver Kahnt he should be called
