if ur using RC1 aka 2096 thats ok, if ur using a later build that i posted but then deleted due to few problems in the build. so u better remove that build.

if u still having problems with SP2 RC1 u should remove the version and pls do list the problems ur facing......

pls state the version of xp ur using, if it was sp1 integrated frm microsoft or u did it urself..

also if possible state if ur using the pirated version and if yes what version is it....... {devilsown or somother way pirated}

ok Formated my computer today (used non-sp1 ver of xp)
2 installed sp1

sp2 RC2 will be out in a week or close so u may want to wait if ur having problems with this build.. though installing RC1 and uninstalling is pretty safe in most cases if not all.

yea i might just wait for rc2

but i have to go to a dev confrence for the launch or /pre launch of sp2 so maybe i will see if they give us a ver of sp2 there

the latest is 2144 which is a build or 2 closer to RC2 but had problems with divx video....so im providing 2138 the stable build yet, after RC1.....

Xp SP2 Released to web......

xp sp2 finaly made to web, anyone on XP and not using the pirated corp version should install.

remember if ur using serial thats not suppose tobe for xp sp2 it may or maynot install, but it will shut ur windows if it does install and only way then is to re-install xp again.

Just installed it - had to do it in safe mode, as it get getting stuck at the "checking disk space" stage (probably the anti-virus software acting up).

Everything seems to be working fine after the install.

I also noticed that my TV tuner software stopped working - in fact, Windows hanged on me when trying to start the software. Downloading and installing the new drivers fixed the problem.

hmm thats second time ur system hung on u id say if ur system dont go well for next few days, perhaps u should do a clean install, i dont like my system keep hanging on different things i do.......

i didnt had any problems, maybe cause iv already done a clean install with RC2 and just installed final version above it, so basically nothing has changed....

when u get time slipstream ur sp2 to xp and reinstall. just a thought.

and oh if ur system hangs onemore time .....

the last link you gave was the complete FINAL version, right? i downloaded one like a week ago called "xpsp2_RTM_ENU" or something like that.... and it was HORRIBLE

i just want to make sure it is the right one before i download it

RTM means "release to manufacture". The link provided above (the version I downloaded) doesn't say RTM in the filename, but does say RTM in the IE about box. Both seem to be final, but xpsp2_RTM_ENU.exe doesn't seem to be digitally signed, and so, could be a fake.

The link provided seems to be the final version - I've seen the same link from other sites, and all of them indicate it's the final version (although it's aimed at IT professionals and network admins, and so it is designed to be installed over a network).

Windows has been running fine since I updated the drivers - I even ran some benchmark stress tests just to make sure.

yes that version was either fake or a leaked version without microsoft signature [digital certificate]...... the link above is frm microsoft's site so no worries......
