i wasnt talking about 24bit that's exactly the point

24bit png is only usefull for hq screenshots for e.g. movie comparisons but total overkill for screenshots such as *my desktop*, my working place*,....

and the only decent compression for NON photographic content (which most screenshots of applications for guides are) is 8bit and that is not possible with any tool i have tried so far - i'm open for any suggestion, however

i don't usually save in 8bit, but i just tried it out on two different images using ps, xnview and infranview, and i see what you mean

neither app's 8bit can beat ps's 4bit

but for freeware, can't argue with those results

Well I got all the avatars, it's a 4x4 grid (NOT in pixels LMAO). Anyway, I am stuck trying to get the frickin animations to work. Ulead GIF Animator works great, but it seems to give me trouble, like when just blutach's is added, it works fine, but then when I go to add UncasMS's it then makes SEPARATE frames, so it is like JUST blutach moving then JUST Uncas. Arrgh, I would do it by hand, frame by frame, but it has a VERY HIGH least common multiple... like 80 frames or so. I blame Cornholio for that, his alone has 20 frames! Jeez! Blutach's has 5 or so, as do UncasMS's and TNT's. The rest are fine, cuz they are still.

Any other suggestions to get the animations to work? The "oh so great" Photoshop doesn't keep the animation, whaddyaknow! :ROTFL:

PowerPoint made a great one, but it's in PPT form, but I got a good backup plan if all else fails, which is to make the PPT into a movie file then add that into Ulead GIF Animator... but again it all comes down to that common whole number they have to go into... some avs have more frames than others.

Any bright ideas? Should I just make it a still?

Not sure what you mean, did you want me to put Decrypter in there? Did he even have an avatar? Like I was gonna put some other people but they don't have an avatar. Anyone have an idea on how to get the pics to move?

And what's wrong with Corny's av? I just used PrintScreen and pasted in Paint and cropped and saved as PNG... I did the same for all the avs, right clicked and said "save image as"

Oh yeah, did you notice that I put the mods on the left and right sides (I forgot that Columbo was not a mod ), I figured they "hold the rest of the members in place" or whatever... doesn't sound as good as the original one but I forgot that one

BTW, what was that page that shows who's a mod/smod and on what page? I can't find it.
