i wasnt talking about 24bit that's exactly the point
24bit png is only usefull for hq screenshots for e.g. movie comparisons but total overkill for screenshots such as *my desktop*, my working place*,....
and the only decent compression for NON photographic content (which most screenshots of applications for guides are) is 8bit and that is not possible with any tool i have tried so far - i'm open for any suggestion, however
