I can't wait for the Halloween remake to hit the theaters,I think Rob Zombie will do a great job with it. I forgot about this movie until I was reminded a few minutes ago

I ahve started watching a few horrors. I am going to watch the Directors Cut of the new Dawn of the Dead. It has 10 minutes of extra gore and voilence. The R2 is also not censored like the R1 DC.

I think I will watch Hellraiser I to III again as I have new versions with DTS which should be good that I haven't watched yet. It also includes a Extended version of Hellraiser III.

BTW, did anyone hear that Clive Barker has been approached to write a remake of the first Hellraiser film. It sounds such as bad idea.

I have just finished the DC of DOTD and apart from 3 new scenes, I didn't notice anything else.

The R1 DC has been censored by some CGI to hide nudity at the beginning.

I just found out there is a Day of the Dead remake next year.

One thing that doesn't look right is Ving Rhames is in it. Anyone who has seen the DOTD remake will know what I mean.

I can't believe Halloween is getting a re-make. To be honest I'm sick of all these re-makes. These days, about 70% of the new films are re-makes and they are an insult to the originals. I thought the re-makes to Psycho and Rear Window were so dull and boring they were an insult to Hitchcock. I can't remember the actors name but the one that played Norman Bates in the re-make to Psycho can't act for a start.

                  Vince Vaughn.

He usually does comedy such as Dodgeball, Anchorman, Wedding Crashers and Old School.

I agree about the remakes and shows there is very little talent in Hollywood at the moment. No American remake of a Japanese film has been superior (Ring, Grudge, Deep Water etc). Also, did anyone know that the recent film The Departed is a remake of a Chinese film called Infernal Affairs?

I had a feeling the re-make to Day Of The Dead would come out but I'm going to pass on that. The re-make to Dawn Of The Dead is what I passed on. From what I've heard and seen in clips there's no shopping mall and that was what made the 1978 version enjoyable as well as the story. The main location did it and George A Romero said he wouldn't have been able to make the film without the shopping mall.

I bet there's going to be a re-make to Dirty Harry or The Taking Of Pelham One, Two Three next. The reason for all these re-makes is because the Hollywood film industry is running out of ideas.

I must say, I'm looking forward to Rambo 4 and Rocky 6.

Most of the film is in a shopping mall. They go in just after not more than 10 minutes of the film starting.

I know. I meant most of it was in the shopping mall.

The re-make to Piranha was awful. There were a lot of mistakes, there was a lot of footage from Joe Dante's Piranha in the re-make and it was hard to know if I was watching the original or the re-make due to the cheap and cheating way of making a re-make because the production couldn't be bothered to film all their own footage and Dr. Hoak was a man played by Kevin McCarthy in Joe Dante's and Dr. Hoak was a woman in the re-make. It seemed odd having Dr. Hoak as a man in one version and as a woman in the re-make. I've always enjoyed Joe Dante's. Long before DVD came out, I remember when it was deleted on VHS in the UK and I spent seven years trying to get a second-hand copy. It never came on TV for over ten years and as soon as I managed to find a copy and when I bought it, guess what, it came on TV again. All those years of hunting it down and as soon as I bought it it was set for a TV showing. I wasn't that bothered becuase my VHS copy is one of the first copies released here and the cover design is miles better than what it looks like on the DVD. I have it on DVD, too. The cover design on my VHS copy has the original poster image as the front cover with all the credits under the image.

I agree there have been some bad ones but there also has been some darn good ones made also like "The Hills Have Eyes".I was very impressed with Rob Zombies writing and Directing skills of "House of 1000 Corpses" and The Devils Rejects" in my mind he gets what a horor film is all about.I think his mind is twisted and talented enough to remake "Halloween" and not fork it up,I think he will make it just as good or if not better then the original I kind of agree with this guys view on remakes

"what do you think about remakes?" The answer is far from simple, but in short my belief is simply would you rather see Jason XIII, Hellraiser 19, Halloween 22 or a more serious start from scratch? My original reaction years ago was "f-ck that!" but I have since turned to accept that maybe a re-imagination of our classic characters might not always be the worst idea
I just seen they are making "Hostel: Part II".I said in the past that didn't care for Hostel I just watched again last night and it isn't to bad.Sometimes I have to watch a movie a few times to truly appreciate it

The way how I enjoy re-makes is when I see the re-makes before the originals. Just a handful of titles of the re-makes that I like before I saw the originals and some originals I still haven't seen. I like The Ten Commandments, Ben-Hur, Heat, The Thing and Scarface. The only one of those that I saw the original to is The Thing From Another World. I prefer John Carpenter's title. What I find better about John Carpenter's is, he made it totally different to Howard Hawk's version. I'll pass with the original versions to The Ten Commandments and Ben-Hur because they are silent films. I will watch the orginal versions to Heat and Scarface one day. I must admit, I enjoyed the re-make to The Haunting but I prefer Robert Wise's version. I also enjoyed Poseidon that was the re-make to The Poseidon Adventure. It's rare I enjoy a re-make. I thought the mini series The Poseidon Adventure was an insult to Ronald Neame's version of the film. Rogo was a cop in the film and I think he was a terrorist in the mini series. What was that change of character all about? The mini series was also supposed to be a disaster story about the Poseidon getting hit by a giant tidal wave and turning over and it was turned into a Die Hard story, too. I only watched Part 1 and quit on the rest. I'm glad Richard Dreyfuss was in Poseidon because he doesn't appear in as many films now as he used to.

                              This Is A Little Off-Topic

This is a little off-topic. I don't know if anyone else read or heard about this, there's a chance Die Hard 4 will go into production.

I want to see the new Indiana Jones film when it's out.
