Yea they are some reccomendations I like to list some every once in a while to coax others in to giving them a look .All though I should warn people that "Turistas" is going to be one of those either you like or don't like movies.

Sorry I missed your post I have been curious about that movie.I always liked John Travolta movies (almost all of them) he always seems to do a good job plus this movie has some other great actors in it to help him out like William H. Macy,Ray Liotta and Marisa Tomei.

Trivia time...Turistas was directed by John Stockwell, who also directed Into the Blue (<3 Jessica Alba) and Blue Crush. Was the jock in Christine and Cougar in Top Gun. Looking at IMDb it appears as if he directed an episode of the tv show Cheaters...lol. Turistas was ok as a movie. Better than a lot of slashers but nothing too special.

Children of Men should have been fused with "Sean of the Dead", that may have rescued it. I can't believe they touted it as the "Blade Runner" of this decade.

Yeah I didn't like the Blade Runner comparison myself, as they're nowhere near related. Really wished they would have cast someone besides Julianne Moore. Cinematography was top-notch, tho. You have to appreciate those long takes. So much better than the "5 edits per second" style of a normal action flick. Dialogue was weak at times and the ending was a bit "bleh". But overall I thought it was a pretty durn good flick.

I'll post that making of clip I mentioned before, made me appreciate the movie even more after I saw how they actually did some of it. Contains spoilers so I'll put a warning.

"Blade Runner" is like the holy grail of scifi in my book. Tough for any film to live up to that type of comparison.

I have to admit I watch anything Sci-Fi. I felt like I needed more out of "Children of Men". I thought "The Lost Room" mini-series was excellent. They left the door open to more episodes, I would watch more. I also really liked "Taken", by Spielberg. I am going to have to try "Deja Vu", that one slipped by me.

I have Smokin Aces in my rental queue as it looked good from the previews, last night I watched Underworld, somehow that passed me by before and after Blood Diamond it was certainly an easier watch !!

Kate Beckinsale is not exactly hard on the eye !! lol

Going to check out Turistas now !
