Why my bad reputation?

I got the tongue thing covered LT. thx to LT, anonymez and JL for getting me back on the right path. I've only given one red in here and it was to a spammer who just kept posting the same thing to annoy everyone. I don't even know what your rep has to be to hit someone with -9, I'm guessing at least a 5 green with alot of post count. TO must have some big supporters in here that have some serious rep. I'm laying low for abit on the NFL thread though, just make my picks and keep my mouth shut.

WOW I just got my first big red hit. -9 points in one shot. didn't sign it but it had to be someone with some serious rep. It came off the NFL thread and on a basic NFL post. whoever I offended I'm really sorry, I won't say anything bad about the TO situation again.

Just wondering, could someone make a sticky in the Newbie forum saying that it is nice to add to someone's reputation if they help you? See, I have helped so many people in there, but since they are new, they do not know to give me rep, so the only rep I get is negative.

why you need to encrease your reputation with "points"?

what i really think is: seems dangerous.
anyone can answer "everything"(wrong or right)in the whole forum
only to encrease his own reputation and in the end,...
is helping himself!
the real helper don't need to encrease reputation.
the new member will feel faster who have good reputation and we,
the "olders", knows who deserve and have good reputation a long time.

Gee drf - by posting that, you are so totally setting yourself up for reds. Anyone asking for greens gets mucho reds. Anyone saying how bloody great they are in helping others and why isn't this recognised will for sure get reds.

My advice is to lay low, be nice, don't puff out your chest and say how many peeps you've helped and just blend in. Right now, your complaining is only going to make it worse.

Good luck, is all I can say. I reckon you'll need it.

And, no, I don't think a sticky is in order.

Um... I just ask them, and just say, something like "since I helped you and all, would you mind thanking me by give me some reputation" type of thing. One person did, and thanked me profusely. Don't take this in a negative thing, as I am not forcing them or anything, just merely "informing" them of the reputation.

well obviously it's not helping. i can guarantee you, if you had never mentioned it, you might even have 2 greens by now. i do agree though that newbies don't know about the rep thing, but they can only give blues anyway which don't make a difference. and for the ones who CAN give greens, have been here long enough to know how the rep system works and you will get points without ever having the need to mention it. look at the top rep members in the list and see if you don't believe me. none have ever asked for rep and look how green some are. blu is turning into a bloody leprachaun he's so green already
