New Sony Digital Camera Installs Rootkit to Stop Photo Sharing can anyone confirm this

Many consumers are complaining about Sony's new Cybershot DSCP515 camera that installs digital rights management (DRM) software on the person's computer so they are unable to share their digital pictures with anyone.

this is stupid, i mean person taking pictures are his property and he can do whateva he wants.....

Also my cousin bought new sony cell and his all incoming pics got blurred.

The easiest solution is to use a card reader. I have owned many digital cameras and never connected them to the computer.

Firey's laptop has an inbuilt reader. Best thing for pix.

I'm being convinced never to buy SONY hardware or audio CDs, that's for sure. What next? Rootkits on their media?

It won't stop me buying Sony AV kit. I wouldn't get Sony computer hardware as most of the time they don't make it themselves. Their DVDRW burners used to be actually Liteons (don't know if they are still).

I also have a card reader on my laptop and it has been very useful.

dont trust media id's and beware of the faked cohibas with wrapper from taiwan!

people say they behave like normal when burning, but the unpleasant surprise will follow without a doubt ^_~

back to digital camera's

its possible (USB devices can 'autorun', just like CD's), but unlikely IMO, they would get their asses kicked financially and their rep would go down even more than it has now, if they stopped people from sharing their own photos, that they took themselves.

ofcourse i'm too lazy to do a search right now to see whether this is true or not, but i'd rather believe that sony will be announcing their bankruptcy tommorow, for now.
