I thought that way when I was younger, but now realised you can't take it with you when you die. Just like Tim Allen says "more power"

I have no idea how much I have spent as I have had many computers. My first laptop alone was £3000 ($5,150). It was a compaq and had the first TFT screen. The screen was £1000 of the total price. The specs was a 486DX33 with 8MB of RAM.

My first computer was this one and was also about $3000 -

I could also add ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amiga, etc as well.

I have probably spent up to $5000. My first was a gateway pentII with windows 2000. Add a laptop for school, two printers and a new dell desktop. I have spent some money. (Not including pc software)

I started with a ZX80 that I assembled myself, can anyone remember what year they were launched? I cant, it's too long ago!! Then I had a spectrum 48K, then a 128K and I've just kept going ever since. I cant even guess at the amount I have spent, mind you I had to sell almost everything once! There's nothing as effecient at parting a boy from his toys as a bitter woman!!

Hold on, theres the little bugger: http://oldcomputers.net/zx80.html 1980 the ZX80 was launched, I suppose the name was a giveaway! Thanks for that link nwg

My first computer was a "Tandy 1000". All "DOS" commands. I think I gave $300 for it. lmao

My second computer was a "PIONEX" from "Sam's Club". Paid around $1200 for it.

My third computer (this one) is a custom built computer, that I paid around $2000 for.

I can't even tally up all the hardware I've put in them. Basic guesstimation would be around $3000.

One of my favourite early computers was a Scheider (Toshiba). Everything ran from a floppy disk that was built onto the keyboard. It had a small amber coloured screen (no proper colour in those days). I ran a DOS program called Multimate on it a lot (anyone remember that).

IBM rolled the dice on a desktop venture with the peanut computer (remember the
silly Charlie Chaplin ads) and OS/2 and it lost. ...
