    Unfortunately I can't say I didn't make it through the movie I wish I could.It was one of them that you stick through until the end thinking it's going to get better and then you kick yourself because it didn't.

      SC ... Thunderball ... I did a similar poll on DDSF (the almost forgotten forum) ....

      TRIVIA:
      This film was Sean Connery's own favorite performance as 007.

      According to "Bond-Gadget-Designer" Ken Adam, the jet pack that Bond uses to escape his enemies was no nice special effect but a real jet pack provided by the US Air Force. Initially Sean Connery was to fly the jet pack without a helmet (and some publicity photos of him with the jet pack were made with him without a helmet), but it was later decided he wear a helmet in the scene.

      In the underwater scenes where Bond encounters sharks, Sean Connery was supposed to be protected by clear plastic panels shielding him from sharks in close-ups. However, the panels only extended about three feet in height and sharks could swim over them; as a result in some scenes (notably during the pool fight at Largo's mansion) Connery got much closer to real sharks than he wanted - director Terence Young said in a 1995 interview that scenes used in the film where Bond reacts in fright at the approach of a shark were miscues in which Connery was reacting with genuine terror as a shark approached unobstructed by plastic shielding.

      FYI: Never Say Never and Casino Royale are non-canodial Bond flicks.

            Sean

            Connery and the best movie was Thunderball. The new guy is real good also, he is better than the other past 007, but connery is still the best.

              @ Miss Marple, better late than never, David Niven played Sir James Bond.

              Plot Summary for
              Casino Royale (1967)

              Sir James Bond, a spy from the old school (a good spy is a pure spy) is called back to service by the death of "M" and the imminent collapse of civilization. The opposition tries to compromise him, but even as nubile young agents are thrown at him, he remains above it all. Going beyond parody to sillyness, every agent is renamed James Bond, 007 to confuse the enemy, including Woody Allen who plays, Little Jimmy Bond.

              Summary written by John Vogel {jlvogel@comcast.net}

              The freewheeling farce begins when aging Sir James Bond is persuaded to rejoin Her Majesty's Secret Service and head an operation to smash SMERSH. His mission? Topple Le Chiffre, whose baccarat winnings support the evil organization. Before you can say "double-oh-cross," enticing Vesper Lynd recruits baccarat ace Evelyn Tremble to impersonate the suave super-sleuth and confront the villain. Adding to the mayhem is Sir James' neurotic nephew, Jimmy Bond, a SMERSH defector.

              Summary written by Robert Lynch {docrlynch@yahoo.com}

              Sir James Bond is enjoying his retirement when four international agents press him into service again in hopes of smashing SMERSH and Topple LeChiffre at the baccarat tables. Bond is taken in by Agent Mimi (alias Lady Fiona McTarry) who immediately falls in love with him. Bond's illegitimate daughter, Mata Bond, whose mother was the late Mata Hari, is going to help out. The current agent using the Bond name, Cooper, has his hands full, despite his assistance by beautiful secretary, Moneypenny. 007's nephew Jimmy Bond is supposedly incompetent. Bond, hoping to clear his name from its current low repute, hires Evelyn Tremble to meet LeChiffre at the gambling tables at Casino Royale. The world's richest agent, Vesper Lynd, helps convince Tremble to masquerade as 007.

                  I grew up with Roger Moore being James Bond. I always liked him, he's very dashing and suave.

                  But watching Sean Connery as Bond, sorry there is something about him. To me he seems to fit the part better.

                    Connery hands down...although I've heard that Daniel Craig did an excellent job. Suprising to say the least.
