Ok I am feeling stupid again.
for the first 19 years of my life I spent most of my free time on the ice (Figure skating)
Now I see in the Winter olymipcs "Curling" what county did that become a sport in, and is this the first olymipic games that it is in. Am I that far out of th loop in sports? ( all of my years on the ice I have not seen or heard of this sport until 3 weeks ago.)Comment

I think it was 1924 when they first awarded medals for curling ( which they just announced ). But was officially added to the program in 1998.
Prior to 1998 it had only been a demonstration event. Heres a quick article if you really want to know.Comment

WOW I was still skating in 1998 we have the big olympic ice center here in WI and I never saw this before. Must not have been big in this part of the country. Up intill now.Comment

You had never heard of curling before?? Just seems wierd because I have grown up with it. I havent actually ever played, but it has always been here to my knowledge.
Were you ever in any competitions?? Thinking of competing in Vancouver in 2010???Comment

yes I did compete I was never nearly good enough to make the olympic team not that good. I used to compete at the State fair park back in the day before it was a multi million $$$ national ice center. Now I am getting old and out of shape I still have my skates though.Comment

I play shuffle board at my Grandma's Elderly Complex, does that count??
and it's never too late to try again. You can be in top form by 2010. Be a hell of a comeback I'd say They'd make movies about it.
( Not the made-for-tv kind either )...I think Rachel McAdams would portray the part well.Comment
