I got those Sony ones that Target has for like 13 bucks and they work fine on my MP3 player, LOL.

On my PC I use the speakers.

A friend swears by this brand and he justs loves them. I have tried them and they beat everything I tried and owned by a mile.

damn that's pricey not willing to spend more than about $50 (US)

i contemplated buying noise cancelling headphones, then i thought what if there was a fire alarm, or the doorbell rang, or phone, cry for help, etc. might sound somewhat pessimistic but i do wear headphones quite often and want to be aware of my surroundings

If anyone want's a GREAT sounding pair of headphones, at a decent price, look into the Grado SR 60's. They look ugly but do they sound awesome. I used to sell Sennheisers and Grados. I was debating what to get and ended up with the Grado's. The Sennheiser HD600's are good, but they need a good headphone amp to really shine. Plus they cost 5 times as much. The Grado's work fine off a portable cd player and I highly recommend them for people on a budget. Stax are nice too but pricey.

When I was comparing the SR60 to the HD600's, the Grado's were more airy and articulate, while the HD600's had more bass but sounded a bit more constrained. But then again, bass is kind of lost on cans anyway. I tried the more expensive Grado's and didn't notice a justifiable difference. If you can try them out somewhere, I would definitely give the Grado's a shot. If you actually buy them, I'll teach you a tweak to make them sound even better.

TNT, i did some reading up on grado, and apparently you can't get them in australia, unless you're willing to pay a hefty price;

sounds like bad news at first, but we have "alessandro" available here, which is a rebranded grado and they're cheaper here than in the US, methinks the grado sr60 equivalent is this http://headphones.com.au/prod_one.php?productID=19#top

still just as ugly, but considering reviewers call the product "legendary" i guess i could get used to them

Music is very important to me. It is the best way for me to relax and it is necessary for me to get a pleasing sound from speakers as well as headphones. I am currently using Technics headphones at the moment. They are very impressive and have good bass. They were just £35 as well.

I will spend some money on a sound system for my truck. I currently have 2 JBL 10" subs and Infinity mids and highs with a Autotek 220 amp.
