You're right photo angel, my mom lives in AZ and they do not observe daylight savings time. As I understand over the next few years daylight savings time will start earlier and earlier.

I don't know if it's true but I was told years ago that daylight savings time was started to help the farmers have more daylight hours in the fields. Now a days farmers have top notch equipment which includes lights and are in the fields well past dark in planting and harvesting season. Here in the midwest our "scenery" consists of corn fields and bean fields and plenty of dust from the farm equipment!!

It started on the big scale during WWI and WWII.

Most Farmers are actually against DST. It makes the extra sunlight dry out crops. The problem is most Famers work by the clock time rather than the amount of sun out at the time. If they worked by the sun instead of the time then crops wouldn't suffer.

Now, for most people it is a way to conserve energy.

Crops get extra sunlight due to being harvested later rather than earlier because of the extra hour. Famers need to ignore the DST.

Well, many protest about it, that's fer sure nwg.

Us city folks can't figure it though. DST is still not on in Queensland because of the faded curtains argument. Can you believe it?

I worked with an old german scientist who didn't believe in it, every spring he came in an hour early but stayed till quitting time, he never would change his watch.

I don't mind it... we change our clocks, my computer does on its own. I am asleep at 2AM, so my parents just change them for me, I never notice a thing.
