What do you mean? You folks from the big T state call it "honda hoot"? It's in the middle of no where. Isn't actually in N.C.. We get to it out of Townsend via the Foothills parkway.

Better ? might be what haven't we done. Haven't done any of the day hikes tho we have hiked along bits of the Appalacian trail (gotta be careful there, people die and dissapear on that one!) Would like to do Ramsey's Cascade and Mount LeConte, there's also a hike that goes to the Devil's Courthouse near the Onconoluftee end of the Blue Ridge Parkway I would really like to do.

Here's the one's we've done: (Yes, I keep a list, won't be satisfied till I've done them all.)

                National Park Area:

                Grotto Falls
                Rainbow Falls
                Mingo Falls
                Indian Creek Falls
                Junkeywhank Falls
                Tom Branch Falls
                Abrams Falls
                Laurel Falls
                Fern Branch Falls
                Baskin Creek Falls
                Cataract Falls
                Huskey Branch Falls
                Meigs Falls
                Spruce Flats Falls
                Lynn Prong Cascade
                Indian Flats Falls
                Flat Creek Falls
                Twentymile Cascade
Chimney Tops ----Most difficult one I've done, some hand over hand climbing.
                Andrews Bald
                Clingmans Dome Tower
Hiked along the Little River and Little Pigeon River
Greenbriar area along the Little Pigeon River (got married in the park, next to the river)

                Been down the Blue Ridge:

Several trails at Grandfather Mountain (One of the worlds's biospheres)
                Linville Falls
Several of the Mount Mitchell trails
                Some at Mount Pisgah

There's over 250 waterfalls in Brevard/Transylvania County N.C.(Land of the Waterfall) These are some we've done:

                Sliding Rock
                Courthouse Falls
                Looking Glass Falls
                Twin Falls
                Moore Cove Falls
                Whitewater Falls
                Rainbow Falls
                Turtleback Falls
                Slippery Witch Falls
                White Owl Falls
and probably more I can't remember.

All the trails in Chimney Rock Park near Asheville, N.C.

You know I love a great hike and getting to see a magnificent view or a spectacular waterfall at the end is a bonus! I'm always thrilled to go back to the Smoky's even tho I've been there so many times and always sad to go back home.

One of the last free National Parks in the country too! Anyone who hasn't been there and enjoys nature, go check it out!

I am impressed if ya did. That first one could win awards in photography.

                          @ PA

Thanks, yes, those are my pics. I take hundred of pics on vacation, alot of them just average or less then average and then you get a couple of good ones! Taken with just a simple little digital Cannon Power Shot S45. I've got a few others that are like that of the Grand Canyon I'll have to post.

Yeah the trail at Andrews wasn't the greatest but it was one of those we'd looked at time and time again and finally just did it last year. Clingmans Dome is one of my husbands favorite spots, I can't count the times we've been there.

Wow, the AT 3 times! Now that's impressive! Part of the problem with the day hikes is our dog. He always goes on vacation with us and you can't take him on the trails. He loves to go (we've taken him on some of the less traveled short trails) but dogs and bears just don't mix and besides you can get fined too. Those long ones are too long to leave him in the cabin. One of these days! We do need to spend a little time in the Cosby area, always going to but never quite get that done.

Cataloochee was another one of those we always talked about but never quite got there so last year we made a point to. It was really a great experience when all the elk came out late afternoon. The calls they make are quite unique, almost haunting. Got a little too close to a young male last year, boy they are big!! You know how your not supposed to run, I know this, read all the wildlife tips, been bear watching for years, but boy you should have seen me turn my back and run like a little girl when he came at me!!l Forgot all about those rules then!lol Lesson learned. My husband said he wished he had the camera so he could have taken a picture of my face.
