I found a purse in a shopping cart the other day. No one was around except my 4 yr old. I told her that someone lost their purse and we have to take it into the store so the owner can get it back.

Now society has told us that we shouldn't steal, even when nobody is looking. My question is, if nobody is looking, why not break a moral code?

    Here is my answer...

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
    -- Mahatma Gandhi

We are 'Free-willed' beings. While we have free will, to choose what to do and what not to do, without ethics we would not have an organised, civil society.

We could have a civil society based on law, big brother and a police state, but humans prefer more self-regulation and hence we have to trust in individuals to act within moral and ethical codes that are agreed, even if unwritten in some respects, in order to maintain order, remain healthy, to survive and thrive.

Hall yeh! I would keep the hundred!! No second thoughts like Rx etc. I like the NewEgg.com charity idea or anewburner.ca.

I like your idea of snow shovelling DRF!

I only have to do the path ways then! I only get it plowed when there is 6 inches or more of snow. Otherwise, it would take me 2 hours to shovel.

PS I like the driving surface called "white asphalt". Great in the winter but sloppy in the spring.

The next news I got was that she was pregnant...that's why she was at the drug store to begin with. That news took a couple of cases of beer to sink in real good, and it wasn't a celebration.
