@Kabuchan, just use something like MS Photo Editor and make the huge image to 1024x768, then it won't get cut off

(and I think there's a "resize" option when making a picture the desktop anyway, you have to do it through settings not right clicking.)

@ Kabuchan, the bridge in the foreground is the Forth Rail Bridge, which spans the River Forth between Edinburgh & Fife in Scotland. The bridge in the background is the Forth Road Bridge, which spans the river between the same places.

Anybody running XP & wishes to resize pics, might be interested in this PowerToy, Image ReSizer. Also here is a link to the Power Toys download page.

IMO Image Resizer gives less quality than Photo Editor does (Photo Editor came free with my version of MS Office)

output "quality" depends on the resizing algorithm and the source. lanczos and bicubic work well, or shoud i say the best. i'm taking a wild guess here, but i'm not sure that microsoft will have anything but nearest neighbour and bilinear.

I have photo deluxe that came with my first digital camera in 1999. I hate that the default save isn't a jpeg or gif, you have to export to do that. But it does some really cool stuff.

Photo Deluxe is by Adobe. If you want a fairly decent app for resizing or cropping, as well as easy file converting, try Xnview or Infranview.
