I personally think the stunt & the "apparent" consequences was a bit over the top, even for WWE's tastes. Many message boards are flooded with threads/topics that state the same, but since "they" say that wrestling viewer ship is suffering, I guess WWE felt this would be a cool "hook" to rekindle the flame... *bad pun*

EDIT: Article from Wilkes-Barre local newspaper where the event was held.

Did you hear that Steph fired Ariel from ECW, because she & Batista were having an argument backstage? Gee, I sure hope the 98 lb. female didn't hurt the 300 lb. monsters' feelings

I would take most things you hear about the backstage area with a huge grain of salt..I doubt that was the main reason behind her being let go..in fact when Joey Mercury was fired the net filled with a rumor that he was fired because he pushed step during an argument and she had to be taken to hospital...of course not true...

I can't believe it...Chris Benoit & family found dead in their home, just came across the wire from Atlanta....

He was one of the *good* ones, very sad day....
News Story - not many details yet...

Thank you for breaking that news Katz....we had not heard anything about it here before you posted. Was really hard to break the news to my 11 year old son. He loves Benoit and attended last night's Vengeance with his Dad mostly to see Cena's match and Benoit's....He came home saying it was strange cause they substituted Johnny Nitro to wrestle CM Punk in Benoit's place and he couldn't understand why...He is so upset right now..

A real tragedy for the WWE.

I am in shock...I just don't know what to say..this death hits me hard I watched Benoit his whole career starting in Stampede wrestling...I think its time the govt steps in and does something in regards to regulating pro wrestling with all the deaths...young deaths at that...terrible terrible news...

I don't know that government action would have made any difference in this case, but I do think that McMahon needs to take more responsibility in monitoring the health and well-being of his wrestlers, especially in the detection and deterrence of steroid use....which can cause irrational, agressive behavior. Not saying that steriods were a factor in the Benoit case. Many of the news reports I am reading about this terrible occurrence indicate that investigators on the scene are theorizing that Benoit killed his family this past weekend and then himself Monday night. I hope to heaven that this is not the case though.

He was a great wrestler who was well-respected and will definitely be missed on wrestling nights in my home.

The thing is that when in the last 10 years over 60 wrestlers world wide have died of drug or drug releated problems, including heart attacks. like Road Warrior Hawk (age 45). Davey Boy Smith (39). Brian Pillman (36). Big Bossman Ray Traylor (42). Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig (44).Ravishing Rick Rude (41). Bam Bam Terry Gordy (40). Hercules Hernandez (46).Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert (33). Chris Candido (33). Crash Holly (34). Death under peculiar circumstances. The list goes on. And so does the mourning. Here is a story from usatoday about wreslter deaths when Road warrior hawk died. This can't all be something unavoidable or something as tragic as Owen Hart and now Chris Benoit..these have all been preventable deaths..someone should have know something was wrong.

Maybe we can put this terribleness behind us & move on from this point...I know I've had enough, with the media & all...

I read on another forum that Jim Ross stated in his blog that TNA is up for sale, & that Vince is maybe considering a purchase? Hear any rumors on that one?

I was just casually browsing & came across it. I am not sure where I saw it, & of course I didn't save it!

I am not really turned on by TNA in its' current form, though. I wouldn't mind if Vince got a hold of it & mixed things up a bit - although It would probably wind up as just a carbon copy of RAW/SD & the storylines...

I'll look around & see if I can find it...

BTW, do you check out the *spoilers* websites to see who "won" ahead of time? I have started doing that recently... & it looks like Vickie G. might be a perm. fixture on SD...oh well, guess I will warm up to her...
