Hurricane Ike

Hurricane Ike is heading right toward me. According to the news right now, Ike is 1mph short of classifying a Category 3 hurricane. Gas has shot up 40 cents in less than 24 hours.

I am stocked up on water and food and have a generator so I should be ok. Hopefully I won't loose my electricity but, I can almost guarantee it. I'm glad I just moved out of the trailer I was living in...lol. I am in a house now that doesn't have wheels under it.

Its currently raining outside but, the winds have not started yet. The local news station said to prepare for up to 25 mph winds by 9:00 or 10:00 here.

(For everyone at the ImgBurn forums and members here who went through Katrina/Rita with me: I'll try not to "shart" in my pants this time and blame it on my dogs...lol)

the worst hurricane for death toll was galveston 108 years ago and killed 6,000

I sure didn't...I was trying to save money so I just used Elmers glue then siliconed the edges...

Your talking about Hurricane Rita....its slammed the Galveston coast

I was erroneous in my comment...we did get hit by Rita...It was so close to Katrina I was combining them...lol

I saw on the news earlier that there was a couple that ignored the evacuation and now they are out on the roof waiting for a rescue chopper...the audacity of some people astonish me

Hope everything goes well and you come out safe J. I was down in Fl for Andrew. That was unbelievable. i had to go down south to Miami and deliver some Paso Fino horses. All down 95 all you saw was trees bent over and twisted like king kong walked over them. I even saw a cow turned upside down off to the right fully bloated and drowned.

@Chewy. That Galveston tragedy was shown either on the history channel, disc or ngc. Lives could of been saved except for the insanity of the weatherman, I think, who told the citizens everything would be alright. Very disturbing and disheartening to say the least.
