I predicted this to go after Jmet 2 days ago, they kept saying it was going west but I knew it would stay NW after clearing cuba

The worst winds are atypical, this one is so big it's spread high and far, the damage won't be as bad as expected, it will be very widespread tho

I was glad they took a strong approach in New Orleans this time around in stating that anyone who wishes to stay would not be entitled to any relief. Imo New Orleans is way past due as uninhabitable. At about 20ft. below sea level and the inability to really build anything workable to prevent flooding and so forth, I feel it's time to sit down and draw some new plans as far as it being conducive to being populated.

The weather report that I saw earlier said that Ike is at 110 mph. it is 1 Mph from being a category 3 hurricane. I would charge anyone that decided to stay for there rescue.

Remember the motto, nor rain, sleet,or snow, will stop me from my appointed rounds.
I guess they they should change the motto and include hurricane's too.

The weather patterns have not been recorded until recently. So who knows if this is normal or not.

some guy figured out the rhyme and reason to why they form, the tropical depressions form off the coast of africa

as they move westward they either get enough energy or not to make a hurricane

solar and water are fairly constant for the time of year, what's variable is the amount of dust blowing off africa

add a lot of hot dry dusty air to a baby hurricane, it dies

there's been a lack of dust these last several weeks
