Has anyone converted "The Hunt For Red October" from DVD to DivX

I'm Getting Frusterated with the movie The Hunt For Red October. I'm using DVD2AVI and I get it all done and when it get's all done I look at the video and I realize that It wasn't Encoded all the way like it'll just stop near the end of the movie and It never done that when I used it for my other dvd's until I found the movie and DVD2AVI started doing this when I started encoding this movie. If you could help that would be great. By the was I'm using DivX 5.02 Pro.

dvd2avi is not really meant to do the transcoding part!

use gordianknot with divx5 using a two pass routine.

in case you're interested click my upper anigif and take a look at my guide.

As UncasMS suggested, I wouldn't use DVD2AVI for anything other than a means to and end.

In other words, don't use it as a standalone encoder, but use it when GordianKnot needs it.

I wouldn't, however, use GordianKnot. I really am not satisfied with the complexity of the program when identical results can be achieved with FlasKMPEG 0.7.8.39 in 2-pass mode. Just use GordianKnot as a bitrate calculator (just start the first few steps in GordianKnot and it will give you a bitrate after opening the .d2a file).

      Hope this helps.
