    transcode audio

    tell me if i got this right....if i want a good quality movie using only one cd with GKnot i should transcode the audio from AC3 to MP3 with something like BeSweet to take less space on the audio part and put the rest on the video part.......right ?

        You might want to give "ogg vorbis" a try for your audio. According to Uncasms it can deliver good quality audio at 96 kbps. You should test it for yourself.

          And make sure you DON'T use the full DVD resolution. Cropping & resizing will help in increasing compressibility of the video, as well as making the resultant video look neater and, shall I say, non-amateur looking. Applying smoother filters should help too.

            dont use mp3!

            ogg will need much less space while having same quality

            especially for 1cd rips i would stay away from formats that need uneccessary space!
