Wrong filesize for given bitrate ?

    Hello,
i've got a problem encoding with Divx 5. I have a movie which is 112 minutes long. I want to make a 2 CD rip of this movie with mp3 audio. The bitrate Gordian Knot calculated for me is 1581kb/sec. This should give me a (give or take) 1.2GB movie file. I'm doing two passes, both at 1581kb/s. But the second pass generates an avi file which is only about 950MB big. At the start of the encoding the projected file size is about right in Virtualdub, but the bitrate keeps dropping throughout encoding. The bitrate i see in Virtualdub towards is about 150KB/sec (which is 1200Kbit/sec, which is way less than what i told divx to use !)

Anyone else had this problem ? Please help me out

    Tnx in advance

    your video is saturated!

to increase filesize use the highest possible resolution (704 x XXX), DISable bframes and set the keyframe interval to some 25 frames
