SBC, Nandub and filesize

Hi again, just a quick one
When using nandub and setting a lower bitrate to encode ending titles, is still possible for the calculator to calculate the bitrate I need to get the filesize I want?
Cause lately, all my DivX are a lot smaller in size than what they're supposed to be, so everytime I have to guess what bitrate would fit, raise it a little then PRAY the movie won't be too big.
And if it's too big I can still cut ending titles.
When I don't set that option to encode at a lower bitrate ending titles, I always get the filesize I want, so I wonder how useful is this option if u get a smaller file that will waste space on your CD.

Have u tried using GordianKnot, it can do endcredits seperatly and will recalculate the bitrate for u (I think, I don't use that feature myself).

mmh no I don't know much about GordianKnot... I'll go read some tutorial

i always use a different bitrate for end-credits and so far the filesize has always been perfectly fine.

you may come across titles that simply don not reach a certain filesize (like for example 1440). x-men, unbreakable or hellraiser (4) or the cube are such examples.

but this is due to a saturated movie and not due to wrong settings/encoding processes.

other than making a mistake with your settings, i couldnt think of any good reason why your final size doesnt fit.

make some screenshots of your settings, maybe we can find your 'scapegoat'

You mean no matter how high the bitrate I set, the movie would not reach the desired filesize?
If so, that could be the case, since I got this problem with short movies such as The nightmare before christmas...
