    general question about 2-passes

I'm using DVX with divx 5.0.2 and had a question about what happens in each pass.

DVX first processes the audio into the ogg file (if that's what you select).

Then based on how big the audio file is, the bitrate is adjusted for the video processing.

But DVX uses the same bitrate for the first and second pass, so what is actually occuring in the second pass?

The first pass is a test pass to see where bitrate should be allocated. Higher bitrate scenes get a little more, etc etc.

1st pass analyses the video - pass 2 will try to achieve the best possible bitrate distribution based on the analysis and your settings.
