difference between mask and delete bad frames?

In the program VirtualDubMod, you can first scan the video stream for bad frames and then either mask them or delete them.

I would like to understand the difference between them?

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks

    deleting is obvious
this should, however, result in async files, as video only is cut out.

masking should, if i remeber correctly, duplicate/copy the last frame BEFORE the bad frame into your movie rplacing the corrupt frmae.
this way the number of frames do not change and the file should still be in sync afterwards.

i'd suggest you use mask bad frames and simply save the file to a new name after the scanning (audio + video set to direct stream of course!).
