    Different resolutions

    Hi.. a quick comment

I have noticed that when i encode with the standard VCD resolution: 352*288, the quality is very bad (although... on screen) (With the standard template of TMPGenc: Video-CD PAL)

However, when i encode with al the same options, but with the resolution of the Divx movie: 640*352,
then the quality improves dramatically an approches the Divx .avi movie...

Is this because it is shown on a pc screen and not a TV screen, will it look better on the TV..???

If i encode with the higher resolution..... will this affect the aspect ratio on the TV...???? i usually use this option 4:3 pal

    Thanx for any reply!!!!!!!
As long as my boss thinks i earn a lot of money, i will pretend to work hard

Don't attempt to juge the final TV appearance by the appearance on your monitor - different players (on your PC) can create different displays. Just experiment by burning to R/W CDs...

the resolution you mentioned is not vcd compliant and thus shouldnt be used at all!
