    I am new. Please help.

I have many DivX movies on my computer. I have a regular cd-writer (it burns cd-r's cdrw's). I want to burn my DivX's onto cd-r's so that I can play them in my DVD player (a TV DVD player). I don't know how to do this. Do I need a dvd burner, dvd-r's? Do I need to convert the files before I burn them?
Can someone tell me the steps of doing this.
    Thanks.

you could convert your avis to vcd or better SVCD

both vcd and svcd can be burned to normal cd and most standalone player will play them

dvd2svcd might be a handy tool for the conversion

      (...) or TMPGEnc for VCD/SVCD...
or even Nero6 for VCD (as I posted on another thread, it doesn't works well for SVCD)
