Hi there,

some people must have read my postings saying that "Re-encode 3-4 times in MPEG2" and many people disagreed, well, here is one video which I did a lot of work on.
It is a FTP server so downloads will be a bit slow but this server is quite fast. It does support things like gozilla!

ok it is 74 mb *g* but i will have a look on it

btw, i have some prob with tmpeg. U say u encode the mpeg2 several times with it, but tmpeg says it cant open the mpeg2 i made with it before. How do u solve that prob? I think i did nt make svcd but normal mpeg2. do i need some special codec?

75 mb for 4:50 is quite much, dont you think?
(music is fine btw )

i cut out 4:50 of one of my latest transcodings and that was some 65 mb in size (640 x 272).

thus i dont see what the discussion will lead us to?

a dvd rip can be done in better quality and higher resolution and still the filesize will be similar.

The quality was very poor but look how much I had improved it. I re-encoded to MPEG2 over 5 times using different settings.

I don't care about the file size when encoding into MPEG2/MPEG1 because then I just convert it to DIVX and that is when file size and quality matters!

But tell me, what did u think of the quality?

the quality is fine!

i never spent that much time on captured material, thus i dont dare saying the result could be better or smaller!

problem is the filessize to me.

The file size, this is cause it's MPEG2, very high quality when captured.
