Aspect Ratio

If you have a transcoder ,right and it has an aspet ratio setting
16:3 (Such as Gordian Knot)
4:3
etc You decide to set it to 4:3 (1)
etc

In your codec you decide to set it to 16:9 (2) (such as Divx)

How will your movie look like 16:9 or 4:3 .
