    problem with nandub and ac3

    Hello all,

Now, I have a sticky one for you. With the avi and ac3 files, I tried to multiplex with Nandub, no good.

The status window showed that it was doing what it should with the video, audio1 but not audio2 (if that means anything). Also, when looking at the 'Perf' tab in the status window, it said:

    Video Enabled: Yes
    Audio Enabled: No
    (if that also means anything)

Both video and audio were done with direct stream copy.

When checking the file size after muxing, it was the size of both the avi and ac3 added together. However, when I checked it out in that Graphedit (or something like that), there was no audio box where there should have been.

The problem is there is no sound when watching the movie.

    Any suggestions, thanks,

    Ox_yat.

I've never tried nandub, so I can't help you. However, there's an AC3-modified version of Virtualdub available. It has always worked great for me. I can't remember the url, but I think it's somewhere on divx-digest.

Sure you've registered the AC3 filters by the way?

      @ ox_yat

muxing shouldnt be that compkicated, but did you do this way:

      @ gspr

nandub is a modified vd version and has much more settings/support for various formats/2nd audio stream and thus is by far the best choice

        Thanks for the info,

Yeah I hadn't registered the ac3 filters but it's all good now.

Anyhow I turned it into an mp3 and am happy with it (it also lessened my file size by 200 meg)

        Thanks heaps,

Uncas: ah ok... to be honest I've actually always wondered.... I guess I'll give it a try the next time I backup one of my DVDs. Thank you for letting me know.
