Divx5.avi and Virtualdub probs

i`ve got an divx5.avi file (at least, thats what the filename saids), But it will not play in WMP, DivxPlayer 2.0 and powerDVD.
I have searches here and tried to open it in virtualdub, but that generates an error : cannot determine filetype ....

suggestions anyone?

load the file into GSPOT and it'll tell you which codec was used for the file

Well, i did and....hmmpff:

Status : Not a valid AVI file: Bad Header.....

can I delete the file or is there a way to fix it??

backup the file (never know what it might be good for) and use divfix, which very often can repair AVIs

Hmmpf, divfix tells me thats its not an avi file, strange....

looks like a lost file too me.
