'crackling' sound for DivX's encoded with Nandub

I got loads of DivX's that have been encoded using Nandub. Problem is, all of these movies have trouble with sound playback. The video part is perfect, no trouble at all, but as for the sound, it makes this 'crackling' noise. No chance at all of hearing what is said etc.

I figured this must be related to a problem with one of the codec's, but unfortunately i don't have too much knowledge about this.

I don't have this problem with any other DivX's, and reinstalling soundcard drivers doesn't seem to help either.

    Sys specs:

    Amd Athlon XP 1800+
    MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU
    256 MB DDR PC2100
    ATI Radeon 8500 (retail)
    Hercules Fortissimo II

load both an avi that plays fine and one that doesnt into NANDUB and post a screenshot of what the FILE INFORMATION says.

maybe we can find out more/hint you in any direction as soon as we know what kind of codec was used!?

This is the file info of a movie that works fine with me:

This is the file info of a movie that gives me the crackling audio:

I used File Investigator to take a closer look at the files that didn't work, and in this way i found out that these files all seem to have been created in Nandub. As for the compression codec being unknown for the 'crackling' DivX, this seemed to be the case for other crackling movies too, so not just this one.

I sure hope this helps, having a nice movie on HD without being able to watch it properly is frustrating as hell...
      (Thx for helping out)

Well, after installing several audio codecs from the Tsunami Filter Pack everythings works fine again, so thanks for helping out, but the problem has been solved !
