it's good that you at least dont download Metallica or Dr.Dre, coz they would have RIAA/FBI agents up your a,s,s in a matter of seconds

the riaa has said its only going after those who supply (allow people to download of them) large amounts of illegal files. These people will get the biggest penelty.
So if you just d/l and not u/l at all, you are let off a bit.
However the RIAA said it's after the people in the USA first. So if you dont live in the USA, you haven't got a whole deal to worry about (unless some other agencies are trying to sue you).

I was emailed by the FTC about a year ago in relation to a similar thing. I sent one back telling them where they could stick their heads, with a few abusive languages. I then changed my IP address, discontinued the free email account and aint heard anything else! Sweet....
