My machine is pretty fast. I can do a main movie title only with Dvd43 in about 8 to 10 minutes and then burn with ImgBurn. I guess with a slower machine what you says makes more sense. I wasn't thinking about major encoding because most of the movies I do are at 90 to 100% so there isn't much encoding. I recently gave a friend of mine an AOpen Dvd Dual Layer 16X burner that I got from Tigerdirect.com for $26.00 U.S. That is cheap.
Hate for DVD43

Well, mine is slow, even sometimes on small shrinkage - particularly if you use DA/AEC (which will increase encoding time substantially).
As well, DVD43/AnyDVD would not be useful with a true encoding based solution (eg DVD Rebuilder).
Still, each to his own. I'm just glad there are many products out there that can help people.

I have to start learning the more involved methods as I think eventually it will get more dificult with this new world order crap going on. My problem is that my spinal cord injury gives me a constant headache so I just look for the easiest method, then I can escape into the movie, know what I mean. Since I have puchased my Zenith Dvd318 upscaling dvd player I don't have to back up for the same reason as a firmware change was made that allowed the Dvd player to upscale thru the yPrB outputs, so I only backup my kids stuff now.(6 years olds are tough on DVD's).Comment

Rago88, I have an older Sanyo PlcXW15 which does not have HDCP. The Upscaling DVD players (most, not all) will downgrade the output of the 1080i signal to 480p if if does not recieve an HDCP signal from the projector/TV unit(in this case my projector) if the DVD Player senses macrovision, or other copyright protections. The firmware (downgrade actually) allows my DVD player to output 1080i on the YPrB outputs irregardless. The firmware upgrade on the Zenith fixed an HDMI issue that was not seen on the YPrB outputs. I do not use HDMI opuputs as my projector is 25 feet away from my DVD player rendering digital useless. The firware upgrade as a concession turns off 1080i thru the YPrB outputs. The downgrade puts it back but does return the HDMI issue which is O.K. buy me. That was the main reason I did backups so I could watch the movies at 1080i, which looks better than 480p on this projector, even though it is XVGA.Comment

Hah!
Yeah A-T, right on man. I'll take my 1973 Mercedes 450SL and 1973 MG Midget over that crappy Escalade any day of the week too. If you think Cadillacs don't break down then you deserve one. And don't tell Lt. Columbo about ugly cars. The idea is that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Thats the only way some people ever get married or have DATES!! DVD43 Rules. Variety babay!Comment

Cadillacs do break down and when they do they cost more to fix because they are Cadillacs.
Whats wrong with cheap PAID for old cars? LOL
Sorry I couldnt resist.Comment

Ouch! I deserved to have it piled on.
I was actually referring to DVD43 as being cheap and ugly and defending my 'right' to own a more premium version of the 'automobile'. I shouldn't be called absurd for preferring what I do.
Well atleast I know that AnyDVD comes with the lifetime extended warranty!
