        Re

Yes, I tried that, but something went wrong which I have to look at, I tried it with Starwars, but it re-wrote over the first set of vob files for some reason, and my lad was pestering me for it, so I just put the main movie on, I will try that next time I am home, (running out of time now, got to back to work), as it takes quiet alondg time, and the remaining time I have, I want to make some vcd's to take back to work with me.

DVDIdiot : I don't know about others, but if I had a thread discussing an article I wrote, and then someone came and posted a link to their article, I would be pretty offended by that. Perhaps you could elaborate a little bit more on how your article can help solve some of the specific problems raised in this thread, otherwise, your post can be seen as spam by some.

Just a friendly warning, since this is the kind of thing that starts flame wars, complaints and eventually end up with someone getting banned.

                      Re

hi mate, sorry for the delay, but back at work now, so everything takes longer, I tried the split to two DVD's with SW2, but could not get it to work, but saying that, I was rushing about, and only tried it once, but I will give it another go when I get home.

got a question for ya swanside, i ripped friends the series disc one, and the main video stream is vob 1-5 and there is an extra video file on the vob 2, so i ripped 1&2 vob's,

now will ifoedit correct these to play or do i need to renumber the vob files(or will it totally mess the movie up)

                            swanside1:

I got a question for you.
The ReMPEG2 software is confusing to me...
I figured out the sample cffl thing and the log process.
The thing is after the process of the total amount.
You were saying something about divide. But I have no clue what to divide???
I just copied the same process as your guide.

This is what the main menu says:

high quality scaling is checked off.

                            Performance:
                            integer DCT (faster)
                            calculate PSNR is checked off
show RC info is checked off
use ISSE is grayed in.I can check it off.

My point is that I did everything right befor REMPEG2
The scale factor %,I dont know if I did it right.I didn`t divide anything, just copied the same as you.

The use ISSE is grayed in and I can`t check-it off.I tried to change other section to see if the grayed area would go away but it didn`t,but I put everything back to the way it was before I changed it.

I started the process this morning(12/15/02) at around 6:00AM and now(6:53PM)and the % is at only 18% done.
I just didn`t understand about divide.
Can you show me the way to do it right from all the info that I typed down...

I really need your help here badly. Please help me!!!
Can you tell me exactly what to divide for the info I typed and how to process it.How to make that "use ISSE" be checkable instead of being grayed-in.Do I have to cancel the REMPEG2 process and start over because the "use ISSE" is not checked off???
                            I don`t know...
                            Please help me out!!!
                            The movie is american beauty.
                            Thanks for listening/reading.

                              Re Alicia

Say your ripped folder on your HDD contains 5800000000 bytes of data, and you can only get 4300000000 bytes of data or there about on a blank DVD-r, then, get a calculator and type

                              4300000000 / 5800000000 = 0.7413,

so your bitrate wants to be set to 73% max in Rempeg.

Set the rest of the settings as I have, and I usually start it about 7pm when its time to relax with a beer, as it usually takes 15 - 18 hours to do a full movie, sometimes its quicker, but it depends on the size of the movie.

                              Paul

So is everything fine with the info that I typed or do I have to restart it because "use ISSE" was not checked-off and the scale factor (%) was at 80.
Is everything fine with the process(formating movie) that is still formating.I dont have to start over???
