    TMPGEnc DVD Author problems

    hi there

i have about 600 vob (mpeg2) trailers on my HDD and i want to make trailer DVDs (about 40 can fit in 1 dvd-r)

i want to start with all the Dolby/THX trailers but in some cases TMPGEnc DVD Author does not read the vob file properly, it usually tells me "encoder failed to read" or if it reads the file once i want to edit it, i can't scan thru it, it shows no timeline or frames.

most of these trailers are 5.1 Dolby and are great for Demos, but sometimes TMP does not read them

i tried to de-mux these vobs that i have problems with to .ac3 and .m2v files and TMP read them but once i authored the DVD - on the dvd player (windvd, powerdvd) theres no sound or some times it wont play that certain track.

does TMP have problems reading some vobs? or vobs with busted headers? (which i suspect is the problem btw)

is there a program there that will fix these vobs so the TMP author can read them properly

          Hi,

I had the same problem too with some trailers (thx robot..). I discovered that these files have 2 chapters, the second one with a duration of 0secs. So, I used VobRator to save the 1st chapter and my problem with TMPG was solved.

You said you have 600 vobs (!). I'm making myself a trailers collector and I've found only 80 !(pal and ntsc). Where do these files come from??

Another question : I've found Dolby Digital trailers with dts soundtrack on the Internet. Is it possible that trailers of a sound company have a sountrack of the other??

how do i load VOB files into TMPGEnc DVD Author anyway?

when i try it with the "add DVD Video" button i get an error saying video_ts.ifo could not be found (i riped only the vob files)
if i choose the "add file" button i get this error:
this is an illegal video size

when i use the dvd i ripped the VOB files from, TPMGEnc only read half of the movie or less (40 out of 100min)
