MenuShrink ver 1.0 - utility for shrinking DVD motion menus to still frames
On my SONY (only), there were problems with older versions of MS in showing highlights on several of the menus - esp the chapter ones. This was nailed down to eliminating an additional NAV Pack at the end of the cell.
I really only extensively tested SW2-AOTC as we don't move on until the prog performs flawlessly.
I do believe this has been ironed out now in v1.06 (which jean is just tidying up).
Note - there were never any probs if you kept the audio - this is a very simple thing to do (says he who didn't do it, except manually with VobEdit!!! ). But the no audio option had issues cropping up every now and then (as they will in a new prog).
nwg, thanks a bunch for the testing! Great to hear the output worked as expected in both cases! Always count on blutach to cause trouble, even if it's with his Sony player!!!

nwg, in fact, there's one you could try: "ELF", NTSC version, a user over at doom9 says he's been having highlight problems (with 1.0) on his settop boxes (audiovox and pioneer). I don't have that DVD... If you do and if you have some time, can you try it? But you should try it with 1.05, which is here:
i thouhgt shrink was capabled of turning menus into still pictures, still images or still frames. another queston; why doesn't anyone point out that if you are one of those people who doesn't mind or preffer having just the movie without menus, menushrink is not needed. and one more point; why woul anyone want to keep menus which they can't watch and/or hear?
maybe i just don't underestand the meanning of "still frame", if that is so please explain.

Yes, it can, but then you lose the menu functionality, no highlights, no buttons, no navigation.

... because it's obvious?

thanks.
OK. A still menu is a menu where the video is not animated. Just a single image that does not move. It can then be silent (still frame, no audio) or have audio.
Most importantly, the menus created by MenuShrink are fully functional. They work exactly as before, except the video is not animated. Does that clarify it?
