Benbryant it is a great guide and works just fine but you are right about HcEnc all of a sudden.Remember your tip for renaming the old version I think it was 0.15 to 0.16 or something like that.I just recently upgraded to the latest version or anyway I had to reinstall and I was wondering if that might have something to do with it.It seems my problem started after I did that. The encoding page pops up like it is going to work and then goes and all jobs done pops up.I used the next in line NuEnc and everything worked fine.Thank you again for the guide.

              Problems avi2DVD no sound

I have tried to convert avi to dvd with subtitles and everything seemed alright. When I burnt and watched it I had sound until half of the movie and suddenly the sound was gone. (all the rest was perfect)
              (I used Freeenc encoder)
              Anybody tips?

              Thx

Job NOT Done. There are warnings ...

                Blink,

I have exactly the same problem.

                My log file is identical.

My avi file was encoded with the h.264 codec. I downloaded somewhere the codec and as a result I could play the avi file in Windows Media Player.

When avi2dvd starts QuEnc ( to encode??) and QuEnc reads the .avs file, it shows the error.
                Avisource: couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc x264 .

                Can anyone help?

Did you find the solution? Did someone else?

                Met dank

If you go to audio & video codec forum you will see a thread called need help to find codec. If you check that thread out you will come upon a great list of all you need by anonymez or go back & check some old benbryant posts.I am sorry I can't remember which one.Is that codec enabled or disabled?

metdank, if you haven't already got it, download & install the latest 'ffdshow' from http://ffdshow.sourceforge.net/tikiw...etting+ffdshow

then go start-->program files-->ffdshow--->vfw codec configuration

click the 'decoder' tab, then 'codecs' in the column on the left. scroll down the list till you find "h.264". set it from 'disabled' to 'libavcodec'. happy encoding

Hi, I followed the same steps as Blink, and the log file doesn't actually report the real error. It just tells you that you had one.

I sat there and tested it with a small file to find out the real error, and here's what it says:

                      Avi syth error
Error cannot process avs file wait for avi synth error message
Error avi source couldn’t locate decompressor for fourcc div 3

                      Any ideas what this means?

I would really appreciate any help with this, or any other program or idea that might work, thanks ahead of time,

Try with one of the others like QuEnc.

I just received my very first red for my Avi2Dvd guide. A member gave me a red for "Good effort but unstable app for use by newbies". That means that if a program is still buggy, conflicts, or the if the user doesn't follow the guide step by step correctly, the one who made the guide should be blamed for. Isn't it hilarious?

                              Regards

There is no way in the world you deserved that. I for one followed that guide as a newbie & know for a fact when you follow it exactly it works. It is very easy to read & understand.
