and if its not please point me to the way.I tried looking through the forums but they are very many and very overwhelming.Here is my issue.I am in the US and I bought from a UK online store a set of dvds from my favoirte show "Monarch of the Glen" because they arent doing the 4th series in the US.I found a helpful link in trying to convert these after I ripped them with DVDecrypter.I used the IFOEDIT program and saved the .dv2 or some such file.I cant figure out a few things.The first is how or where i get the .mpa file for my sound.The 2nd is when i go to load it in Tmpgenc program all i get is a error saying the file i am trying to load with the browse button on the video source is not supported.I did do a search with goggle but i got one outdated page when i put my error in.

I hope you guys can help, I really hate to think i paid almost $30 for a set of dvds that i cant convert to watch.

When you rip, make sure you rip the audio stream(s) you want, too, not just video and subs.

Follow the guide in that thread - it should work.

I have made sure i was streaming and that part was fine, its just when i go to load the video with the browser button on TMPgenc that i get a error that tells me that its not supported.

Hi jamiekate,

If you use DGIndex to frameserve your PAL DVD to TMPGEnc Plus. DGIndex will create a .d2v file and either .mpa file or .ac3 file. Sometimes, the stubborn TMPGEnc doesn't want to open .d2v file. Please try this tip:

-Copy the “DGVfapi.vfp” file from the DGIndex folder into the TMPGEnc Install Directory

-Go to Options-->Enviromental setting-->VFAPI plug-ins. Make sure the "DGVfapi.vfp" is listed there and enabled (check marked)

(We generally don’t have to do anything but if the DGVfapi.vfp File has not been registered with VFAPI and doesn’t show up in the "VFAPI Plug-ins" then the easiest way to get it to show up in the VFAPI Plug-ins is to Copy it in the TMPGEnc install directory)

Ben,
I followed your instructions and im still having the same problem in Tmpgenc when i try to load the .d2v.I get a error message saying 'cant open or unsupported'. What do i do now?
