I just recieved my order of a DVD "Beyond the Reef" aka SharkBoy of Bora Bora. It has no regional restrictions however it was done in DVD5 PAL so when I try to play it my player plays it but seems like the pictures just constantly goes up like theres a vertical problem. I'm a bit BUMMED. Shrink backs it up to file just fine and my computer with nero showtime 2 has no problem watching it but I rather watch it on my BIG screen, please any one is there a way to convert the files so that I may back up my DVD that I just got. I really would appreciate any Help thankyou.
Convert DVD5 PAL to NTSC ? Please Help.

I've been working away at this myself. In the above linked guide, you have to be careful how you output the audio because TMPGEnc won't input *.ac3 files. You can go to the audio options on dgindex and change the output to a *.wav file however which will work. I can't really say I've gone thru the guide and been successful yet myself, but I now know what I was doing wrong. Before I could try it again, I managed to get a program called Canopus Procoder 2 which will do the conversion very nicely. The only thing I have found with this program is that it really takes a lot of system resources, to the point where it will lock the system up and it takes quite awhile to process. Good luck!!Comment

As darren 21 says, Procoder does it in a click or 2 with highest quality. But it is very expensive.
All of these operations are CPU intensive. You can turn the processor priority to below normal if you want to work on the PC during your conversion. But I'd do it overnight. Budget 10-12 hours.
